The name Archipel is inspired by the word Arcipelago, which means a sea filled with many islands. Drawing from the beauty of islands and their diverse wildlife, we crafted a truly unique product. Just like all living creatures, adaptation is key to survival, and our floors are designed with this in mind. Featuring waterproof construction, an ultra-durable wear layer, and commercial-grade abrasion and stain resistance, our floors are built to withstand even the toughest home environments. Staying true to our theme, this line of rigid engineered luxury vinyl boasts certifications like E1 and FloorScore, ensuring that the air inside your home is as safe and fresh as the great outdoors. We've meticulously designed our floors to mimic the natural look of wood, complete with enhanced painted bevels and a registered embossed finish, ensuring no detail is overlooked in quality and design. Plus, they are 100% waterproof, easy to clean, and resistant to stains, including those from pets, thanks to the ultra-durable wear layer with ceramic bead technology.
This is one of many vinyl planks options at our showroom, including a wide range from other brands. You can also see all from Beaulieu at the Quality Red Tag Floors warehouse on Roper Road in Edmonton, or request a quote on your install.
Most LVT and SPC vinyl planks are fully waterproof through the body of the plank. Standing water at the seams over a long period can still cause issues, so we recommend caulking around tubs and sinks.
Both are luxury vinyl. LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) has a flexible core and feels a bit softer underfoot. SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) has a rigid mineral core that is harder, more dent-resistant, and better at hiding subfloor imperfections.
Almost anywhere in your home, including basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms. Avoid full-sun three-season rooms, where extreme temperature swings can affect the planks.
For residential use look for a 12 mil wear layer or higher. Busy households, rentals, and commercial spaces should step up to 20 mil or 28 mil for longer life.
Yes, most modern vinyl planks are rated for radiant heat up to 27 to 29 degrees Celsius at the floor surface. Always confirm with the specific product spec sheet.
