Although they fell out of favor for a while, these tiles are now experiencing a stunning revival in the form of porcelain tiles, perfect for your next home renovation project. Whether you choose to adorn your walls or floors, in classic black and white or vibrant colors, these tiles offer a unique blend of nostalgia and modernity. Floor tile is rated to handle foot traffic and has a higher hardness rating (PEI). Wall tile is thinner and lighter and is not designed to be walked on. Floor tile can usually be used on walls, but wall tile should never go on the floor.
PEI 3 is fine for most residential floors. Entryways, kitchens, and commercial spaces should use PEI 4 or 5. Walls and backsplashes only need PEI 1 or 2. We will steer you to the right rating when you visit our Edmonton showroom.
