For over a century, Metro tiles have remained ageless, maintaining their charm without a single wrinkle. These tiles are an essential part of the ceramic world. Originally designed as simple white wall tiles with polished, beveled edges, they have since expanded into a diverse range of colors and patterns, offering endless possibilities for creative layouts. Their timeless appeal makes them a popular choice for a variety of projects, whether in homes or commercial spaces. Floor tile is rated to handle foot traffic and has a higher hardness rating (PEI). Wall tile is thinner and lighter and is not designed to be walked on. Floor tile can usually be used on walls, but wall tile should never go on the floor.
PEI 3 is fine for most residential floors. Entryways, kitchens, and commercial spaces should use PEI 4 or 5. Walls and backsplashes only need PEI 1 or 2. We will steer you to the right rating when you visit our Edmonton showroom.
